how do you build a model of an old ship?
i have to make this model of a ship from the book “Adventures of Charlotte Doyle”by AVI. If you know what book im talking about, theres a diagram in the back of the book, and i need to include all of those things. For those who dont know what im talking about,i just need to know some basic ideas on how to make a complicated looking 18th century ship…and i dont mean a full size boat,i mean like,a mini model of it.
Hi:
Number one:
find out what type of ship is it?
Number 2:
Get or make a copy of the plans for for it The blueprint or ship plans for a full size are a big help
Number 3:
What size to you want it to be or what the size of of thing or space it going to occupy in your room . This will determine you scale model size
for example a ship that is 50 foot long is going to occupy 12 inches of space the scale is
50/12 = 4.16666 or 1inch = 4 3/16 feet
and if the width is 20 ft across than
20/ 4.1666 = 4.8 inch across
after that;you have to choice which material you want to make each part of the ship. and you will have to glue each piece in .
Good on it .
