how to build a model wooden ship from scratch.?
i need to build an 18 century ship out of popsicle sticks from scratch quick
?? Well,that’s a tall order !!
1) Find plans for a ship of the 1700′s…photos,plans,drawings.
2) Convert the plans to a scale you feel comfortable building in.
3) Gather tools:X-acto knife,files,sanding blocks,pins,glue,etc
4) Build your keel,build up ribs,and lay up planking. Can you use dowels for the masts and spars ??
Honestly,I wouldn’t do one from scratch unless it was a class project,and popsicle sticks wouldn’t be my material of choice. I’d buy a KIT from any of a number of terrific manufacturers.
