Book title,about a town in Florida following a nuclear war. I remeber they had to find salt at one point.?
I remember they made sailboats to find salt,and find crabs as well. They kinda rebuild after the war. The one girl goes blind for a while after a bomb goes off. They make a still out of his car engine,and they have an olf model T I think they get around in. Probably from the late 70″s I would guess. Used to have it,but now I can’t find it or remember the title.

The book you are referring to is not On The Beach by Neville Shute. This is an absolutely fantastic book but this story takes place mainly in Austrialia. A movie based on this book was also made with the same title. The movie does not compare with the book.
You are referring to Alas,Babylon by Pat Frank. This is a story of survivors of a nuclear holocaust,their struggles to survive;it takes place in Fort Repose a small town in Florida.
