Painting a plastic model ship…question.?
So I’m painting a PLASTIC model ship and I’m using “Tamiya Acrylic Paints”that are water-soluble. Do I need a primer and if so something specific? Any help is appreciated.
Unless you are using very light colors against a really dark plastic you should be ok with out a primer. If I prime I usually use a light gray. Plastic kits sometimes still have a chemical on them used to relase them from molds so wash the parts with water and a detergent or soap and you should get better adhesion with the paint. Good luck and hope this helps.
